There was this moment, right, where I was sitting there with my girlfriend, in this theater, at a late night drag talk show, where audience members kept randomly doing “the wave,” and a community organizer was seated in the middle of the room explaining the difference between mold and mildew, and we got the giggles at the absurdity of it all and didn’t quite stop laughing until we were almost home. It was surreal and transcendently funny, probably the memory I will treasure most from Fringe this year.
What I didn't like
I think our presentador estimado should feel empowered to tease more! The gravity of subject matter doesn’t mean it’s inappropriate to joke – a laugh or two can help the interviewees loosen up and make more of an impression, especially if you’re pulling from organizers and activists, who usually use a different kind of charisma than performers.
My overall impression
It was surreal and transcendently funny, probably the memory I will treasure most from Fringe this year. Ramón is the most fashionable late night host I ever saw. Give this manlet a show already.
