Powerful stories told with vulnerability and honesty with a nice blend of humor.
What I didn't like
For me, some of the sexual content was a little too graphic for my taste… but I am probably just being a little too prude.
My overall impression
“Brave… Provocative… These are words you can use to describe art.”
The audience laughs, and even though Tony jokingly delivers this line during his show I thought it couldn’t be any more true to describe his show.
There’s something very special about this act, and Tony. The show is a mix of part stand up, part avant-garde comedy, part poetry, and part honest self-confessional/deprecating humor. To sum it up, it’s beautiful. Tony is not afraid to share some of his darkest thoughts, which is mostly played for laughs at his own expense. But honestly, at one point in the show, near the end, I found myself connecting much more to his journey and his personal trauma, holding back tears.. Highly entertaining and moving. This is art.
