My overall impression
Most people jump straight into buying or opening cases without really knowing what makes one skin worth more than another. Float value is usually the first surprise — two skins with the same name and wear category can have different floats and that gap shows up clearly in the price. I ended up on the DMarket CS2 wiki one afternoon and decided to click through the different sections — it lays out how float ranges, wear conditions, and pattern variations all connect to market value in a way that is simple to follow. Knowing that before spending anything on the market saves you from a few purchases you would probably regret later
