JP had a very tight, solid set. He’s clearly a seasoned comedian, his routines seemed well-tested while still being given a fresh delivery. I love when a comedian can take common themes, and find the angle that seems both novel yet obvious (i.e. “oh wow he’s so right, I can’t believe no one else has put it like that before”). JP excels in that. Not sure what his career trajectory has been previously but he definitely seems on his way to a long career on stage and in TV/Film.
What I didn't like
More people need to come see this show! Seriously, JP and the rest of the comedians deserve full crowds, comedy feeds off energy, and the show I went to only had a partial crowd so the best way for this show to get better is just more butts in seats!
My overall impression
An enjoyable 90 minute stand-up show, which is an accomplishment in of itself. I felt every comedian had the right amount of time for their sets, which isn’t always the case even on nights where everyone is capped out at five minutes. Each of the first three had their merits, but this is truly JP’s show, and his hour or so set showcased the professional he is. Go show support for a rising star!
