The host Max Byrd was great (but her head shot is of her oldest daughter; and she makes a joke, as needed, to the point). Maxs’ comedy and hosting was good and enjoyable; most notable “how i curse out my husband.” 🤣
The show moved along well, “are you ready for your next comedian ….., clap it up”; you know the, I guess, professional comedy show intro script, comic shows have been using for the last 15 to 20 Yrs. IT WORKS. The next two comics were a great addition to get to THEMAINEVENT!
I was sober. That should be comic testing ground, IF YOUGETGUFFAWS from a sober audience, YOUGOTSOMETHINGKIDS! JPs’ show, I found myself having organic outbursts of laughter. And here’s the thing, I’m literally sick of comedy. I can go the next twenty years without ever seeing stand-up, amateur or professional, ever again. Don’t feel bad, cause that goes for hip hop shows as well. I’VE SEEN IT ALL! BUT, the price is right, A GREATVENUE, and AN EXCELLENTCLOSEOUT, AS A CLOSERSHOULD! If JP was the last opener before Dave Chappelle, I’d be very satisfied; but as fate would have it ON THISNIGHT, he was / IS the STAR OF THESHOW, JP BROWN!
What I didn't like
Two comics before JP, guy, who was attempting to sound articulate (but was talking way too fast and swallowing way too many words) HE SOUNDEDBETTERWHEN HE USEDHIS “BLACK” VOICE; gal, (and as I’ve never attempted comedy before so my opinion goes for naught) her timing was off at times and some jokes didn’t land because of the rushing.
My overall impression
From good to GREAT! JP is a GREATCLOSER! The next MAJORCOMICWITHMASSAPPEAL, that all the other little minor comics will say, “what’s so special about him.” I’d say, CAUSE HE’S HIM, and him YOUCOULDNEVER BE! Here’s looking at 🫵🏾 kid. GO 👉🏾 BE GREAT! 🏃🏾♂️
