My overall impression
Absurdist, unhinged, and unapologetic, “A Challenging Evening” manages to capture the feeling of getting a second wind at 3am after being out at the club all night so you grab a traffic cone, put it on your head, and run up Sunset screaming the lyrics to Lady Gaga’s “Edge of Glory”. It’s kind of like that. A wild ride, presented in a neat little package, that will leave you massaging your cheeks after. I won’t say which ones.
“A Challenging Evening” is so un-serious in a way that we need more of these days. It allows it’s audience the luxury of a total brain switch-off for 30 minutes while slapping you in the face with its charming wordplay and hilarity. The enigmatic minds of The Lizard have made something unheard of; an enjoyable, tight, evening of comedy at a reasonable ticket price.
