What I liked
I enjoyed the small exposures of deep lore. The pamphlet was also extremely helpful in world building. I felt immersed in a world I didn’t fully yet understand (much like life)
What I didn't like
The final scene could potentially be extended to build suspense and provide more dialog between characters, especially before the great betrayal that occurs. It left me wanting more.
My overall impression
For fantasy play In Another Life, genre functions as vessel for reflection. As tale is told, audience and characters alike slowly become privy to a story weaved with loss, love, duty, and, of course magic. Though set in the modern time, In Another Life exposes the tragic underbelly of a fantastical world, not too dissimilar to our own.
