I liked the performer’s easy way of communicating, that felt intimate and not like a production. I enjoyed the images shared that gave us personal visuals to his particular story. I found the usage of lights at certain times in the performance also to be helpful with setting the scene.
What I didn't like
At one point in the show, a sound effect happened minutes after it was supposed to, but Gerry (like a true professional), rolled with it, added a funny quip about it that had the audience laughing with him. So maybe just fix that one glitch. Other than that- the show was flawless.
My overall impression
This is a heart felt one man show about life’s ups and downs and how you can learn from that roller coaster of a ride many years after the fact. Gerry taking us on that introspective journey of looking back into his childhood and adulthood provides golden nugget insights on what it means to be a good human being and a bit of a grown up. I found his story to be very relatable. I laughed, I cried- I throughly enjoyed it!
