I liked the simple setting- couch, table, red phone. The supportive music set the tone. I liked how she toggled between having a scene with an historical figure to talking to the audience. I was drawn to her vulnerability and humor.
What I didn't like
It all worked very well. She could extend it as she left me wanting more.
My overall impression
Jennifer Caldwell was brilliant in this very unique and innovative one woman show – she plays Maeve, a Celtic mythological character who leads us on her historical adventures as an astrologer. It was funny, sincere, a refreshing perspective on astrology, key historical moments and colonialism. She really drew me in with her compassion, humor, passion and heartache and leaves you with hope.
