D’Andrea is a wonderful actor. Her physicalization of the cats is just amazing.
What I didn't like
Billed as “A work in progress”, I’m looking forward to future performances to see where D’Andrea—and her kitties—go with this.
My overall impression
Cindy D’Andrea and her spirit guides Tabitha, Samantha, Spencer, and Tallulah are back. Kinda. The four amazing kitties have crossed the Rainbow Bridge, leaving a bereft Cindy to figure out what happens next in her life—her “Fresh Step.” It’s not an easy one. The journey from grief to new loves, new likes, new dreams is not an easy one, and D’Andrea doesn’t sugar coat the pain of letting go or the fear of moving forward…wherever forward is. D’Andrea is a charming and skilled performer, and her personification of the cats is just lovely. She’s billed this piece “A work in progress”—maybe because grief and resetting one’s life is a work in progress. Whatever my armchair analysis, it’s a wonderful show, and worth your time. And, yes—there IS tap-dancing.
