My overall impression

Time is a tricky thing. We protect it, save it, kill it, run out of it. But for a little more than hour yesterday, I didn’t look at my phone once while watching Snow Leopards, a two-woman show starring McKensie Lane and Jazlyn Nicolette Sward, written by Martin Jones and presented as part of Hollywood Fringe. The play is a story of Sally and CJ, two sisters separated by time and much else. It all unfolds in Chicago at the Lincoln Park Zoo, on a pair of benches in front of an exhibit featuring the eponymous snow leopards. But this single location somehow contains the entirety of these women’s lives. Snow Leopards is about growing up, the distance between who we are and who we want to be, how the lines that connect us can carry joy just as easily as sorrow. In the second act, some unexpected news forces Sally and CJ to confront the past and decide whether they’ll heal the hurt between them or drift even further apart.
