Reduce the number of scene transitions because they distract from the story, and trust the audience to understand things without telling them over and over again.
My overall impression
While EXPATRIATED was informative about race and white privilege, it was often repetitive— for instance, there were several scenes in which the immigrant had conversations with the HR lady that illustrated the HR lady’s casual racism. That point could have been conveyed in just one scene. There also wasn’t a cohesive plot. Instead, we got lots of scenes with one actress experiencing racism and the other reaping unearned benefits, due to their respective races. This show has potential, but it doesn’t really need to be 55 minutes long.
