My overall impression
I loved the production! It was great to see a play that embodied so many Hispanic backgrounds and traditions seamlessly. The tone was immediately set by the very natural relationships amongst all the characters. I have no real critiques of the play, it is very apparent much care and love went into crafting the story. As a spectator, purely as a preference of mine, I would have preferred some characters be introduced earlier in the play. I feel like the brother character would have left more of an impact on me had I been able to relate and experience him more. In addition, it might have been fun to have had some foreshadowing about the mother character and her possible “gifts”. This would give off a “loaded gun” affect for the audience leading up to some of the climactic events that unfold. Again these are purely preferences that may be specific to me.
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the entire play and all of the emotional tones it was able to hit. We would definitely recommend any and all to experience the play for themselves!
