What I liked

I liked the tone and characters of the show, the performances, and the setting inside the house. The show felt like a cross between “The Witch” and “Knives Out”. It felt like a classic piece which is hard to do in modern day, especially with a minimal set. I liked that the show had both English and Spanish. I only speak English, but I could see the show being put up in just Spanish live, or in Spanish on screen with subtitles.

What I didn't like

I suppose I wasn’t totally sure what the throughline/story was. I understood the characters and liked the energy and always-moving pacing of the show. SPOILERS I understood that the house was burning, and was happy everyone fell in love at the end. Maybe some of the end of the show could be moved before the fire happens, so the fire is more climactic and we see the after-math and loose ends tied up at the end a little quicker. It felt like there were some paranormal elements in the show, but I wasn’t totally sure. But still thought it was fabulous :)

My overall impression

I enjoyed “CASA FUEGO” and think it has many elements that make it special and can be expanded on in future versions of the show. I was especially impressed by the character work and tone of the show – it was very clear what the setting of this show was and how all of the characters related to each other and affected one another. Krystal is a powerhouse actress, I could see her knocking this role out of the park in so many mediums, she was fabulous. Gabriela was also great as her sister, and I totally believed their love/“hate” relationship. Derlin and German were great suitors and had a fun, playful energy about them, and Leni and lovable Noah were totally believable as the heads of the family. There were many moments I couldn’t take my eyes off of Leni – just fabulous. Also love the Fridge and housekeepers ;)
