What I liked

Leni Rico Maria Magdalena was amazing as the mother – her performance really shined…you could see that there was pain behind her actions…that the character had a past that drove her to her compulsive behavior. The sisters’ relationship was great…as was the relationship of the two young men, and the father and mother. A great start to what undoubtedly will be a great play or film once polished.

What I didn't like

All of these relationships could be expanded on more. I would like to know the background of the family. What was the dead grandmother like? Her spirit appears to have caused the fire that burned the house down. Perhaps an actress playing the grandmother could be added, or the other characters could expand on the grandmother’s reasons for anger and vengeance.

My overall impression

I thoroughly enjoyed this production. Although it needs polishing, it has all the elements of a great story. The beginning was frenetic, which clearly was on purpose (in comparison to the later parts of the story). There is a lot of symbolism within the show that could be explored further. It occurred to me after the show that the wings on the silent character (who finally speaks) must mean something further. At the beginning, I thought perhaps he was invisible…a guardian angel of some sort (when both young men arrived at the front door). Overall, this story has a lot of potential…the actors portrayed the characters well and with passion. I would like to see the story again in its next format.
