The very final bit (with the four actors doing a tag-team story-telling) was good, but it felt anticlimactic after what immediately preceded it. On a stage with a proscenium arch and a curtain, I would have presented it as an encore after the curtain call – a little something extra. Maybe that’s just me.
My overall impression
One of the top three or four plays we saw at this year’s Hollywood Fringe Fest, WE LOVERS works as both romantic fantasy and borderline horror, with the two elements blending together instead of contradicting each other. That makes it the perfect date-night show. Highly Recommended.
