My overall impression
A fascinating look into what it means to identify in many different ways through many different cultures and perspectives. The statistics alone are extremely incredible to understand. Ultimately, Where Y’all From? asks the question “where are you from?”, and often, we make judgments based on those we meet without actually asking them what their story is — and this show proves that we need to listen to each other and allow us, as humans, to accept all walks of life — and more importantly, accept others’ stories of upbringing and cultural heritage — and know that we should give voice to those who have their own story. We should not create that story for them — we need to recognize and value the story we are told — and where we’re all from — which is vast and wonderful!
