Melina’s emotional intensity and taut physicality more than filled the stage, as she darted around the space as Griselda Blanco confronting the men who threatened her livelihood and her family. But Melina also showed the warmth and complexity of Griselda’s maternal side with her son Michael Corleone. Nice emotional range without undermining Griselda’s tough-as-nails persona! What a fascinating part of history!
What I didn't like
Nothing. As a solo show, 30 minutes felt like the right length to highlight Griselda Blanco’s wild life. Not too long and not too short!
My overall impression
To portray an infamous Colombian drug lord convincingly, an actor needs explosive charisma and swagger. Melina has this in spades, along with an impressive athleticism that results in a commanding solo performance!
