What I liked
The acting was phenomenal. Everything was well practiced, well executed, and well organized. The story was a fascinating one and while often dark or depressing, jokes and moments of levity kept the tragic parts from being overwhelming. The set-up, grit vs. shame, was fascinating and well summed up the narrative.
What I didn't like
I wish we learned what happened to Lisa’s family in the end, and maybe more about her kids. The ending was motivational and joyful, but I wish we got a bit more closure on the family aspect, since that was so focused on in the beginning.
My overall impression
A sprawling study of one woman’s struggles with family, love, and identity. A total rollercoaster of emotions from start to finish. Funny, shocking, and tearjerking.
