What I liked
I liked everthing about this show.
The writing is brilliant. The play is hilarious, touching and powerful. It is engaging and entertaining while delivering a hugely important message.
The use of slides is fantastic, one of the best integrated uses of slides I’ve ever seen.
The acting is wonderful. Both performers were perfect. One of those shows where every line is delivered perfectly.
The direction is seamless. I was totally engrossed and was never distracted by anything.
What I didn't like
Only a few moments didn’t work completely. The laughing so I don’t cry was a little over the top. The photo of the crime scene could be improved.
Generally there were times when I couldn’t read the slide because an actor was in front of it.
I’m glad I wasn’t sitting on the side. I think thrust seating should be outlawed, especially in tiny spaces.
I think the idea that “our system is broken” was repeated too often. The play delivers the message and that sentence is not it and is repeated over and over. The message is that our system makes errors that unnecessary cost people their lives because the state (we) murders innocent people. We can get into a debate about that but the bottom line is that “the system is broken” gets hit on the head a bit too much.
I wish this could go on and on. I am disappointed I can’t tell everyone I know to go see this.
My overall impression
This show was one of the best things I have ever seen.
