I liked that I was able to see portions of my own trans life in characters, but also pieces of the trans experience that are so outside of my own lived experiences as a white trans guy. Being able to not only watch people have the hard conversations that we as a community need to have, but also to feel a part of that conversation was so so healing.
What I didn't like
Cannot think of anything that stuck out to me that took away from the meat of the production. There were maybe one or two line slip-ups but the actors were incredibly professional and it didn’t ruin my ability to be in the scene with them emotionally :)
My overall impression
My general impression of the show was the cast was incredibly connected to the material and so was the audience. It felt like an intimate intercommunity therapy sesh/hangout. Truly such a lovely space to laugh and cry about all of the positives and negatives of being a part of the trans community. I did laugh and cry starting with the first beat and through the entire show. The writing felt like a love letter to and from the trans community <3
