I liked the casualness of the performance: how her son lovingly fed her lost lines and offered musical interludes and accompanied her tender songs. I hope more older women engage the vehicle of solo theater to tell their own amazing life stories.
What I didn't like
I just wish more folks would find out about the show—the theater was way too empty for how engaging the show was.
My overall impression
Charley offers one of the most authentic life journeys I’ve ever seen portrayed in solo theater. She details all the challenges, wrong turns, bad decisions and joys of her long career as a human caretaker.
