The three players were very well-written and their performances were so engaging! They made me think of eccentric versions of Marvel Superheroes. I also liked how the commanding host (who wrote this clever show) towered from above, utilizing her strong stage voice to guide the games. Finally, the actor in the creature costumes had good physical comedy and timing.
What I didn't like
These are minor criticisms for the three players that are easily corrected:
Drop the pacing a tad in the more frenzied moments (where dialogue sometimes overlapped) and try not to project your voices upstage, as this results in words that are lost to the audience.
My overall impression
I’ve never played DND and after seeing this play, it really didn’t matter! The host explained the rules clearly, the three amusing players were quite different personality types, the challenges were easy to follow, and the actor portraying the monsters was hilarious!
