I really appreciated all the design elements, really thought-through and cohesive. I also think it is a brave play to perform today. I think very easily the show could tip too far into skewering liberals from the point of view that nobody should try to make the world a better place. But it feels obvious to me that the director clearly is lampooning a very specific white liberalism that cares about its own ego more than anyone else. I thought it was very effective and timely.

My overall impression
I really loved the production. The play is a dark comedy with an extremely specific tone, and I was so impressed by the performances, which felt like they thread that needle really spectacularly, especially the actor playing Ronald. That’s a really difficult role to make believable, and they did it. I also thought the costuming was spectacular (especially of Lance). Clearly all under the hand of a very talented director with a vision.
