My overall impression
Pain American Style… Perhaps the current age is the most challenging time for a black man to take a stage and tell it like it is – and always was. We have always had to find the space between Blues and Hymns in order just to reach the level of American Slave Art. All of that’s Jazz – and oh so still necessary. The “saying it without saying it” still is news. It is not easy; therefore every voice is worthy. We are just beginning to deal with Baldwin.
