It was a “sad” joy ride masterfully written and meticulously performed giving a voice to a conflicted woman who seemingly has it all and yet has nothing. Even with her cruel disregard for anyone else’s feelings other than her own, somehow you made me still care about her.
Maybe it was the peak behind the steel-trapped door she hid behind that was exposed by a twinkle in your eyes that changed to a longing to have the things she claimed to despise. Or maybe it was when she broke out into song that gave her a whimsical likability.
Her outside and inside were placed in clear view and they definitely clashed. She was a mixture of “fabulous in fur” and “shabby chic”
I want to see it again and introduce her to my friend. And maybe take her out to tea – she will need a friend now.
What I didn't like
I honestly can’s think of anything . Superb!
My overall impression
Best of the Fringe – had everything: humor, delightful storytelling, great performance, all components that make a great play were present.
