Valerie takes us on an emotional journey that will have you gasping in shock and shake you to your core. We root for and follow this curious, beautiful young girl as she develops a crush, falls in love, gets pregnant, and marries her childhood sweetheart. One minute, we’re laughing out loud with her and listening to her beautiful voice, which makes you feel she is catching a distant memory or reconstructing her future. It feels good to celebrate this young couple in love who are raising a child together. It’s not until Valerie’s voice becomes distorted and her body morphs that we realize the relationship has morphed into an abusive and dire situation. Valerie’s will, unbreakable spirit and determination are contagious throughout her performa...

This was an excellent performance!! I laughed, I cried and I seven got mad at Danny. That’s how much I was drawn into the show. You are a Roman of many talents and you shined!!! I’m do proud of you and your accomplishments. Can’t wait for part 2. I’m sure the rest of the story is just as moving as part one. ...

Captivating… enlightening and interesting!
In my Notorious B.I.G voice, “If you don’t know now you know!” just Who In the World is Valerie Lacy? I thought I knew! Classmate VL performed a whirlwind one woman autobiographical show which kept me exclaiming “hmmm.” She stood in her truth of her life’s path while telling her story uncut and unfiltered. I too from Compton, immensely enjoyed every aspect of her red velvet intimate show! Kudos for a job well done! I know there’s more to come. 💙💙💙🫶🏾...

O M G EEEEE!!!
I don’t know where to begin… was it the co-parenting relationship between her parents and old time religion? The long suffering consequences inflicted by the parentals and sibling as a form of punishment instead of embracing her as the child she was and seeing that she made a mistake that resulted in a blessing but did not require her to become a 30 year old woman in a 16 year old body? Was it her screams?
Was it the moments of nostalgia that took me back to old school tambourine playing SUNDAYS BEST church or was it the Jheri Curl Juice DRIPPIN, pop lockin, Don’t Tell My Momma, Born and Raised in COMPTON 70’s vibes she BLESSED us with??
THIS STAGE PLAY ISSSS WHAT HAS BEEN MISSING!! It is a FULL REPRESENTATION of the BLAC...
