The way she showed time passing was fun and creative and the detail involved in each of the slides really enhanced the production.
The unique lens of watching Paulina grow up through her relationship with her Mulder poster throughout all of the stages in her life was relatable, creative, and interesting.
What I didn't like
The only issue with the media component was that the background and video was projected onto a curtain. It the projection had been on a flat wall, I think it would have been a bit easier on the eyes.
My overall impression
Paulina is an incredibly creative storyteller; the unique array of mediums really enriched an already engaging story. She pulled the audience in with each step along her journey of self-discovery. We felt the whole rollercoaster of emotions – frustration, desire, anticipation, confusion, hope – as she navigated her identity and relentlessly searched for her biological father. The lens through which she frames her journey is simultaneously unique and relatable and I really enjoyed how she used media to enhance each step along the way. Her comedic talent shined through beautifully as she painted the story with perfectly timed comments and punchlines. I left feeling so impressed.
