The writing is well crafted. The time changes from past to present were clear and effective. And visual. Beautiful imagery.
The acting is of the highest quality. This is an actor who takes her time to discover and process the next moment and then lives in it. Truly, Lucinda is one of the best actors I have seen on a stage. I want to see her in more.
What I didn't like
I think some cuts could be effective. Staying in “the doll”‘segment too long perhaps.
I’d like to see the stakes higher about what this woman will lose – her work, her family, her sanity, if she doesn’t come out of this loss.
I’d like for her to investigate the anger for her mother more. That love and hate aren’t mutually exclusive. I feel like she’s protecting her mother a bit.
My overall impression
Excellent. Beautifully written and superbly acted.
