The intimacy of the space really lends itself to Buster’s “up close” magic, but not in the traditional sense of the term. It’s not a “slight of hand” situation, but rather “slight of mind.” Buster connects with the audience. He’s present. He’s thoughtful. He’s interactive. He is what magic and the performance of said artform is intended to be. Do. Not. Miss. This.
What I didn't like
Sound and lighting are a touch challenging—the sound more than the lighting. Buster should be mic-ed up, especially when music is present in the show. I could not hear or understand him at all during the part of the show when music was utilized. Also, soften the lighting some. Lighting is essential so folks can see what’s happening, but it doesn’t need to feel like the show is taking place in a hospital ward. Also, the seats and space need some TLC in general.
My overall impression
I had no idea what to expect, but having experienced “Psychic Buster,” I knew I was in for a truly good time. This man is so dynamic and talented. At the end of the day, and the performance, Buster is an incredibly open, honest, genuine, and extremely gifted performer. You do not want to miss the opportunity to see this man in action. You will genuinely be blown away!
