I really appreciated the way Tamara and the show moved through different emotional registers so fluidly, and pivoted between past and present so seamlessly. And I never expected to hear organ music back-to-back with Doja Cat, but damn, its a really effective way to set and subvert audience expectations from the get-go!
What I didn't like
Nothing comes to mind.
My overall impression
TGAIC showcases a phenomenal performance by Tamara Zook and rich storytelling at the intersection of womanhood, self-/social/familial expectations, in/visibility, and the unsung perks of aging.
