Theatre Show (a play about a woman)

Comedy · andersmith · Ages 13+ · 50 mins · United States of America

Pay What You Can

A woman enters. She is, until this moment, a mystery. What happens next is very real and probably true. A critical darling of the San Francisco and Boulder Fringe Festivals, Theatre Show straddles the line of avant-garde performance and documentary theatre.

“Sly, wryly whimsical” – Robert Hurwitt for SF Chronicle

“I won’t bury the lede–this show is brilliant… Theatre Show manages to do what theatre so rarely manages to do, and that is to be constantly surprising.” – Amanda Berg Wilson for ALOC Media

“A brilliantly deconstructed piece of comedic theatre. Smith takes a risk at every performance” – Jo Tomalin for FringeReview.co.uk

andersmith is Los Angeles based experimental dance/theatre duo that makes work that deals with the quotidian and the extraordinary, the body and effort, and the blurred line between what is real and the absurd. Founded in 2014 in Arletta Anderson and Adam Smith, they work at the intersection of movement, spoken language, and live sound creation. Their work has been seen at CounterPulse (SF), ODC (SF), Joe Goode Annex (SF), Stomping Ground LA, ARC Pasadena, Highways Performance Space, among other spaces.
