What I liked

I really enjoyed the music transitions from one scene to the next. It gave cohesion to the different scenarios and allowed us to break from the range of emotions the scenes provided.

What I didn't like

All of the scenes were well thought out and showed a range of the human experience. The only one that felt a little long, and confusing was the High School reunion scene. I mainly believe it could be condensed and potentially a different backstory to the guy, whose wife just happens to be dead and only married for four years but knew he was pining for the other character his whole life. It seemed too well designed.

My overall impression

“Black Tie and A Pretty Dress” masterfully balances the highs and lows of life, using dance interludes to remind the audience that heavy moments are not forever. The witty and sharp dialogue, coupled with well-developed characters, keeps the narrative engaging and thought-provoking. This brilliant blend of humor, drama, and choreography makes it a must-see performance that I would eagerly watch again.
