What I liked
Ruth is a skilled comedian who successfully engages solo theater which allows for more nuanced story telling.
What I didn't like
As an outsider to the moral boundaries that tether Ruth’s life, I felt judgmental of how violating she found cheating to be. These days there are many open-marriage alternatives that remain unexplored in her story.
My overall impression
Ruth Brandt infuses a panoply of cultural heritages (her German parents, her New York Jewish and her husbands Hispanic) into a multi-layered story. A skilled stand-up comedian she relates the story of a generating a mainstream family life of husband, children, business and home which dissipates into a cheating mess, followed by delicious independent living.
