I understand that the authors are planning to expand the play, and I think this is a great idea. There is more to be explored!
My overall impression
Our American Tragedy is a wonderful, well-researched, and powerfully performed original historical drama, exploring a new perspective on one of America’s true great tragedies – the assassination of president Abraham Lincoln. It is well known that Lincoln was killed at the Ford’s Theater in Washington DC, yet the perspective of the actors, technicians, and theater staff at Ford’s has yet to be more deeply explored on stage – until now. Our American Tragedy is all at once a compelling “who-dun-it” mystery, a psychological exploration on the effects of violence, and a fascinating history lesson.
