What I liked

I really liked the cast, I thought the father did an exceptional job expressing what all fathers seem to struggle with in a family: trying to get the best out of their children, while at the same time, understanding their own hopes and desires, their own agency and their own capabilities. And too often, fathers may fail at that.
I liked how the family was able to be open an vulnerable, probably too much at times – but it was a hopeful story that showed the power of trust in being open, and in doing so, the ability to develop deeper bonds.

What I didn't like

I know the mother was put in place last minute, but the ipad was a bit of a distraction.

My overall impression

An eye-opening story into the truth about family dynamics, with all of its complexities, struggles, and hopes. They do a wonderful job of showcasing what an actual intervention might look like with your own family, and therefore it’s very relatable, yet very scary – because who would want to do that. It’s a great play, with a wonderful cast who tells you about the truth that you don’t want to hear: your family isn’t perfect.
