Pursuit of an apparently impossible goal (changing the past) was engaging. Comic relief dialogue was funny without undermining suspense. Twist ending was great.
What I didn't like
Lead character delivers a lecture on forensic pathology being able to solve murders by examining corpses of victims, but he makes little or no use of that knowledge in his pursuit of Jack the Ripper.
My overall impression
Clever and imaginative, IN FOR A PENNY navigates the pitfalls of time-travel to yield an engaging thriller with some amusing comic relief.
