What I liked
Kathleen is an incredible performer! She entertains with perfect charm and comedic timing while also making space to be deeply vulnerable.
I am usually not a fan of projections but these ones were fabulous and really added to the piece in such a wonderfully humorous way.
An honest depiction of how complicated grief can be and so compassionate to anyone who has ever had a difficult relationship with someone they have lost. Using humor as a way to truly reach the audience with these important themes.
What I didn't like
It all worked. In fact I hope they keep expanding this piece and that it continues to have a life down the road. People need to see this show.
My overall impression
Absolutely brilliant show! I am so glad that Kathleen and the creative team expanded this piece from a 10 minute play to a 45 minute show.
I always love a show that can dance between hilarious and heartbreaking, and that is exactly what “Grief Box” does. It made me laugh and it also made me cry.
Such a refreshing breath of air about a subject that most people tend to avoid. If it’s not already sold out, make sure you see this piece! You can thank me later. :)
