Grief Box is a funny, poignant, sad (in a good way!), beautiful theatrical experience that not only makes you think about how you grieve and how you participate in society as a consumer, but also how powerful and creative one person can be as they carry the show and guide the experience....

This play was so utterly engaging. Kathleen is a fun and captivating performer whose connection with the audience was remarkable. The writing is so clever and surprised me with how grounded it was. Sometimes you see a movie or a theater play that you know will stick with you for the rest of your life The Grief Box is one of those! Brilliantly written, and dynamically acted. Kathleen Leary has the audience in stitches at the start and then seamlessly weaves her story into the darkness we all experience with grief and relationship shortcomings. Her dramatization of pain and anger over her loss, has her dropping to the floor in genuine tears, while the audience is so captivated, that you can hear a pin drop. Her story is so relatable, her theme universally human and her advice will be something I will always look back on with a smile and a nod.

Grief Box was everything I love about theatre and storytelling. Kathleen transmutes personal pain into a hilarious, heart-felt healing journey for the collective. She commands the stage brilliantly, eliciting gut-busting laughter time and again before stabbing us in the hearts with her vulnerability and clarity of purpose. Bravo, bravo, bravo!...

Grief Box is a candy-colored satire of the commodification of mourning. A skewering of late-stage captilaism’s approach to The Late. It’s part QVC, part CBT all GOOD....
