What I liked
In no particular order:
- live layering of music
- use of projection didn’t detract from the show
- Bethany Hill’s voice and range
- character development of each woman
What I didn't like
I thought the show was good as it was
My overall impression
A beautiful story woven with the history of
six women from different generations and textured with the complex music of Barbara Strozzi and Bethany Hill. This piece is like a delicate pastry with layer upon layer of music, story, social and religious commentary, and history. What a pleasure to experience!
