I loved Matt’s performance, the roller-coaster ride of a story, the vulnerability, the simplicity. I don’t particularly love this for the producers of the show, but I actually loved being in such a small audience (it was the midnight show!). But it brought me back to the basics of theater – just a few people sitting around listening and sharing stories. That was super impactful, thank you. The play also reminded me of what a DIFFERENT time 2016 was. I remembered that it was a wild time, but I had forgotten just how much further we’ve descended. I appreciated that perspective.

My overall impression
I was so impressed by Matt’s clear, straightforward stage presence. I went to go see this at midnight after a very long day and I was utterly captivated by the story and Matt’s performance. The storytelling has been crafted so well to its most essential, and I have never seen the “less is more” approach more successful than with this show.
