What I liked

21st-century Self-Awareness oddly imposed on illiterate peasants 200 years ago! Barren farm wife masterminds ambitious scam about birthing (dead?) rabbits to secure Fame and Fortune! (Really?) Whatever the historical truth it’s sidetracked by Modern POV—-Absurd & Unsustainable Premise, Absurd & Unsustainable Play. New Musicals Inc specialty = extracting songs from ANYTHING, so too much is sung, too operatically, from too tuneless and tiresome a score. Nice to see a Large Cast (15: 8M/7F) and plenty of costume changes, but nicer still if they all knew stage techniques of Vocal Projection!

What I didn't like

Doesn’t anyone teach would-be actors Vocal Projection anymore? No need for electronic miking in small houses if actors know how to use their voices correctly! 2nd HFF show I’ve seen this season where some actors are shouting (and need to be reined in) and others speak so softly they can’t be easily heard in the front row! “Mary” in this odd, odd show is one of them! Wasn’t the Director Listening?

My overall impression

Queasy semi-Porn recast as Quasi semi-Opera
