I especially enjoyed the part about the Negro Leagues and Buck O’Neil and the immaculate grid. I learned so much. I am not an expert on baseball by any means, but grew up in the Chicago Cubs culture with my family. This show gave me a new appreciation for baseball, through Brett’s connections and stories and passion. And, the Hall of Fame game was a blast to watch (I love how Brett got excited, whoever the player was!) as well as all of the projections and music. We were involved from the moment we entered the theatre, with the pre-show projections and music. I feel like Brett gave a beautiful overview of baseball, including a diverse array of teams and players and I also enjoyed his argument as to why baseball is a religion. So excited about what will happen next with this show!
What I didn't like
?
I’d love to hear even more about the ending/when you mentioned that (I think, did
I get it right?) it’s your stepfather who got you interested in baseball. I just want more of what you’re already doing.
My overall impression
A wealth of baseball knowledge executed in many very charming and compelling ways. You might cry.
