What I liked
I enjoyed how committed the actors were to their individual characters and how they collectively fit into the world of the story. I loved the audience participation, it almost felt like we were a bonus character, apart of the crew, helping them hunt the snark… I thoroughly enjoyed that I left the theatre with a smile on my face. It was really fun! You can tell the artists had a fun time creating during the rehearsal process and that poured into the performance.
What I didn't like
I loved how open the space was…but at times it was hard hearing the actors. Especially if they weren’t facing my direction or if they weren’t on the side of the space where I was sitting. Because it’s such an ensemble-based show, I think being cognizant of that will make sure we aren’t missing any key moments of storytelling.
My overall impression
The actor’s committed to the story they were telling. I appreciated walking into space and immediately being invited into the world they’d created. The actors say “yes and” to their story, and it gave me the right as the audience member to also say yes. From the moment you walk in, you are embarking on their journey, and you will be in for an enjoyable ride!
