Each actor individually is vocally talented, bringing together an ensemble that holds their own and hits every harmony clear as day. The bits with overlapping lyrics/counterpoint melodies are delightful! The story doesn’t take itself too seriously, which gives it a great energy – the characters are goofy, down-to-earth and memorable. I also like the way the narrator’s character frames the story.
What I didn't like
I would’ve loved to hear a little more polish in the instrumental tracks, but I was mostly able to look past it considering the show’s light-heartedness and stellar vocals. Also, while many of the songs were cleverly written and very funny, I felt some songs didn’t flow quite as well in terms of lyrics (like Ivy’s song and some of Armstrong’s parts).
My overall impression
Great show! A deceptively simple story about three young superheroes trying to get by, with lots of silly bits and vibrant musical numbers. I saw them the day they had a few (expected and unexpected) swap-outs in the cast, and I quickly forgot who was filling in for who – they blended in seamlessly.
