The writing didn’t take itself too seriously, unlike most other scripts of its kind (“Dog Sees God,” “Euphoria,” etc.). When it got serious, it felt earnest and earned. Each of the characters actually had a unique voice, and they were brought to life by some superb actors, especially Violet Morris, who very well might be the next Maya Hawke. Director Remy Small excellently staged it so that everyone had something to do even when they weren’t speaking.
What I didn't like
A few parts lagged a little; some background music may have helped breathe a bit more life into the overall production. But otherwise, it was brimming with life and heart, again thanks largely to its brilliant cast and sharp script.
My overall impression
Witty, well-directed satire that felt far more authentic than most movies and shows examining adolescent angst.
