Bigfoot! The Musical

What I liked

It’s always awesome to see musicals where every single performer acts as though they’re the star no matter how big or small their role is — this entire cast really embraces that idea. Everyone pulls their weight and brings the energy to the show. Strong acting choices, movement, and vocals from everyone.

What I didn't like

I know fringe has requirements based on runtime but I wish so badly that this musical was longer. I wanted more time for the characters and storylines to develop. Hopefully this team gets to do another version of this in the future and explore the story more. *soft spoilers ahead* I think Bigfoot purely as a cultural figure is such a juicy character study because identity (or the lack thereof) is such a strong aspect of the character. I personally wanted more time to watch him explore the depths of his identity and work through how it compares to the societal perception of him once he’s put on the map by the media. You could have an entire second act that covers his rise to fame and how he deals with that. Lots of possibilities. Show was great as is but I feel like there’s so many more possibilities to rework and extend the story.

My overall impression

Such a fun musical! Lots of laughs, heartfelt moments, and great songs. There’s really no dead spots, paced beautifully and has great awareness of its style. Everyone go see it!!
