This play is dynamite! Like a shotgun wedding of Anthony Shaffer's SLEUTH and one of Edward Albee's latter-day absurdist parables, PARLOUR GAMES is a deep-dive into the dynamics of a psychologically-bent family legacy, and its 55-minute running time reps a perfect power-to-weight ratio (vis-a-vis its effectiveness for an audience). ...

I absolutely loved the devious and playful manner that was brilliantly present at every step of the show. I found myself feeling incredibly playful as an audience member, which was a unique internal experience. The cast was clearly having a blast with their content, and they were completely engaged and committed to the absurdity of the world that the play takes place in. I love the bold risks that this show took throughout the play, and I found the writing to be gripping and clever. I highly recommend seeing this show for an innovative theatrical experience that will engage you in a visceral manner....

Musgrave's script provides the strong foundation from which this dark comedy spring boards off. I was thrown into the fantasy world of Flynn's character and taken by the cautious hand, introduced to incredibly witty dialogue and impeccable comedic timing from Flynn, Edell andd Afanasiev. I was pleased with the work that I'd watched, the story that was well told, and I wanted more! ...

I became a fan of Elizabeth's writing after seeing her award-winning HFF23 play Dream Big. She's on a hot streak as this play is every bit as imaginative, but more fun and twisted! With a whimsical lead character and a Fringey plot twist, I was thoroughly and happily entertained....

Twisted. Absurd. Tragic. Funny. Family.
If "Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolfe" and "Grey Gardens" had a love child, it would be "Parlour Games". So twisted and so dark and so damn tragically funny ...all in the name of family tradition!
Can't wait to see Musgrave's next play! ...
