The first and finest monologue I’ve ever experienced involving a sandwich, and that’s a ballsy move eating while acting, the bites have to be timed right, no lines with your mouth full, you can’t finish the sandwich too early or your prop is gone, and that’a a lot of Subway for one girl to put away while on tour. I felt the show’s writing was exceptional, and accessible to all regardless of musical knowledge. As a professional string player myself, I could identify with nearly every point she raised. It was great to see her at her most raw and vulnerable, confiding with the audience, and delivering her Bach unabashedly.

My overall impression
Karen was amazing! She demonstrated an astounding range of emotions in the show which we heard in her music and saw on her face. Seamless onstage costume changes helped us visualize the different stages of her career and the many on and offstage looks of a cellist. The writing was both inventive and informative, and she kept the audience engaged with her 30 year musical journey. I would highly recommend this show, it will make you laugh and you will hear Bach!
