What I liked

A particularly great element to me was that the lewd-ness felt fully justified within the character and the world. It was never being “gross” just for the sake of shock value, but rather had, at least as far as I could infer, thoughtful reasoning within the context of the show. A raucous fusion of silly and serious. In true clown fashion, Medicine Woman invites us to take the silly things seriously, and to to treat the serious things with a little more silliness. This is the type of show i imagine you could enjoy seeing multiple times over, as the different audiences will have different needs, and thus, will need different ceremonies. It was a beautiful homage to the mystery of spiritual inclination and the absurdity of our physical form. Medicine indeed. It healed part of me!

My overall impression

A truly hilarious, mildly harrowing, and all around healing experience. Veronica is a delight in this intimate communal hour of play as she invites the audience to engage with caricatures both herself and some of the key characters in her life and head. The show kept me enthralled and continuously surprised me. Upon entering we were each given a hand percussive (to that end, I loved having something to do with my hands). The live percussionist on stage was wonderful, so clearly invested in the show, and an active part of the group experience of the evening. The show is an excellent mix of personal creative storytelling, with a sprinkle of chance, and a whole lot of talent and hard work.
